a letter from the illinois department of public health:

"dear mr. jordan:

your name has been placed in the illinois adoption registry and medical information exchange (iarmie) program database as per your request.

if in the future we receive a similar request from your eligible family members..."

heh.

i knew the letter was gonna suck dick as soon as i noticed that the salutation was followed by a fuckin' colon.

oh well.

i thought my dad would have sent the forms to the illinois department of public health since he expressed an interest in learning about me years ago.

maybe he isnt even aware of the opportunity.

i guess my next step involves contacting the adoption agency directly and working with the one employee who was around when i was born and is still actively employed.

judging from the sound of her voice she wont be working there much longer.

i just found out that my adoption was a private adoption between a doctor and a lawyer, and my birth mother was in college and there is no info on the father. to make matters worse, there isn't a single page on medical history of my birth mother. if i was adopting a child, i think that would be a pretty important piece of info. oh well. i hope you find out more.

thanks for the good word.

have you pursued texas' version of illinois' adoption registry?

im a little surprised my parents havent updated their medical history and made it available to me.

a lot can happen in 28 years.
